Skybel

Skybel Review

Skybel <—- (Click here to Apply) is based in South Korea, teaches Korean students to improve their English skills. The teachers are both non-natives (Filipinos) and native speakers from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. (They are not hiring native speakers as of May 2021.) Skybel pays $16-20 per hour (to native speakers). High preference is given to those who have experience being an IELTS examiner or teaching IELTS speaking classes. Their website is hard to navigate even with Google translator. Potential teachers can apply by sending a resume and a 1-minute audio or video presenting yourself to admin@skybel.co.kr.

I didnt work for this company. I’ve never applied. By the comments sounds like the company is being run by a clown!
    With bunch of clueless m#orons!

Yah good luck with that garbage.
The company sounds extremely racist. Not white and thin and tall with 900 BA’s degree. NO GOOD. Cant say “ABC” you go now!

After 2 days of irrelevant stupidity by the interviewer (Meeri) e.g. me saying I’m in GMT+8 time and having to explain to her that it does NOT necessarily mean Beijing, Meeri can’t connect with me on Skype after a 2 minute effort and goes home, ignoring the emails I sent immediately during this time to help her resolve the problem. The following morning, after I spent almost an hour the night before, I connect with their Skype and can send messages to their tech support. Meeri then tells me that she can’t continue the interview because it’s too “painful” for her that I don’t trust her. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING! Listen up idiots running schools like this: get some adults….NOT THESE LITTLE KIDS who can do a real job. My advice to all potential applicants: This is what you have to deal with working for a place like this, and believe me, it doesn’t stop here. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

I got an interview with them. An elderly woman who looked like she’s seen a PC for the first time gave me an interview. She couldn’t understand me very well either. Also out of the blue, she asks if I “took the IELTS exam” despite being a native speaker with a CELTA AND IELTS teaching certificate. I think it was her silly attempt to paint me as a non-native speaker or something because of her lack of understanding but I could be wrong. This silly woman then asks me if I plan on taking the IELTS soon and that all their teachers are past IELTS examiners, which I highly doubt. As expected, she didn’t get back with me.

      Hello TeacherO
We’ve had interviews with a lot of candidates to hire best teachers and we always try to be nice to all candidates in an interview. However, if I misunderstood you in the interview, sorry about that.
However, we can’t understand why you said you highly doubt about our native speaker teachers’ career because It’s true they are past IELTS examinors.
