Douroosi

Comments and Reviews for Douroosi

Douroosi is based in the middle east although I am not sure exactly where. It looks like they teach 1 to 1 classes to children. They also teach other subjects like science and math. Looks like they want native English speakers and the pay rate seems unbelievable at up $56 per hour?! We would really like to hear from someone who works for this company.

Please leave us your comments and review of Douroosi.

$80 an hour…….this kind of stupidity isn’t even worth this post, but for the newbies out there, I have a question: Do you really think this is true?

  • Tilly

I have worked for Douroosi and been paid $40 an hour for each lesson/ This is the middle tier of pay. there are 3 tiers depending on your experience and qualifications. Admittedly, there are not a lot of lessons available at the moment, but as a new startup this is to be expected I suppose.
The hourly pay is much higher than the average online teaching platform, trust me I’ve worked and still work at a few, but the salary they are offering is the norm in the Middle East.
I can’t comment about the address or the reviews. I can only tell you about the experiences I have had and so far and so far I have no complaints.

Can you tell us a little more about the culture and experience of tutoring with Douroosi? How many students are actually available? How do they deal with vacations, absenses or technical problems? Do they send students your way or what is the process of getting them? Do you have repeat students? How do they pay (PayPal, etc.)? Thank you.

      Hi Tilly,

      Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Please can you advise how we can look to get started e.g. an email address to contact the company?

      Kind Regards.

Just an update on Douroosi…The best way to contact them is via their Facebook page. Tried that, although they have advised they have plenty of people on their books for ESL Teachers. However, they are recruiting for SpLD Teachers only and you would need qualifications in this area (being a TA supporting children with special needs does not really count according to them).

        Hope that helps.

The reviews and endorsements on their website are literally from “Jane Doe” & “John Smith”… I mean is this satire? I’ve written to them to try and get more information. I will write again if anything changes but for now, I think it’s best to avoid. I can’t imagine what is to gain from making a fake website though..

This does not appear to be a legitimate company.

First of all, I have been searching for online reviews of this company, but to no avail. Secondly, when I initially checked their website, I could not find their address (apart from The Middle East). Therefore, I contacted the company through the chat icon on their website to request their address, however, I am yet to receive a response. Nevertheless, I decided to check their website one more time for an address, and did so the following day. Miraculously, THREE cities in the USA, with the EXACT address (890 Street Name 123, San Francisco, California 65432) were then listed on their website. Finally, I googled this address and it appears to be bogus!

I smell a rat here; stay away as Lorie suggested!

Douroosi is not trustworthy. Many teachers, including myself, were assured jobs but never heard from the company again. Avoid them!
