Babbel Review
Babbel <—- (Babbel stopped hiring teachers in 2025.) one of the largest language learning apps is now also giving classes. They started in Berlin, Germany and they are based there and in New York. Classes are taught with iOS or Android. They teach many languages including English, Spanish, French and German. They have their own teaching materials and scheduling is flexible. The pay a minimum of $12USD per hour and a maximum of $35 with bonuses.

Babbel is definitely not hiring. Many teachers will be let go soon as they are shutting down private classes for individual customers and switching to a B2B model.

Thay are not currently hiring teacher’s of English.

They state they offer $12 to $35 But I know they offered $12 to qualified, degreed, experienced, native speakers or near-native, and don’t know anyone who has been offered over that amount. They pay less than they would pay teachers in Germany , where they are based so are using overseas teachers as cheap labour
